Journey - 4 - Sanand Visit - Enjoyed with new friend

Dear Friends,
From today I have decided to arrange and organize my all journey description in little different format because after some years when I will be requiring this information It will be available in proper format. This may eventually get modified for betterment and I do invite suggestions from all friends. So here is the beginning.

Date : 04/02/2014
Place: Sanand
Attended persons: Mr. Bhagirathsinh, Shaileshbhai Somaiya, T.D.O. Sanand.

Today my day was not planned.  I thought let me take rest today due to my yesterday's Bhavnagar journey and thinking to write down some new articles. Suddenly I recalled that I had planned to meet Bhagirathsinh on Monday but due to some other urgency I went to Bhavnagar so I called up him and apologize for Monday cancellation. But on phone we also planned to meet today itself and I again started my journey - as usual - me, my camera and Xylo. I reached Sanand at 11:30 and met Bhagirathsinh. We sat for almost half an hour at his friend's Ayurvedic clinic and discussed about GPSC and UPSC awareness in villages, specially in Sanand. During discussion I found him very enthusiastic about his future plan (like me) so our wave length got matched immediately. Then we went to Taluka Panchayat office of Sanand and met T.D.O. That experience was amazing. Till day I have met number of Government officers and almost all of them have responded very positively but today T.D.O. of Sanand broke all this records -  He listened me very attentively and praised my efforts of books. He liked my book so that he agreed to help me in all best possible ways so called up number of his friends and informed them about my book. Simultaneously he gave me name and contact details of all the relevant people and asked me to meet these people personally. I found him very positive and active Government officer. Personally I wish him a bright future in  his career. Finally it was 13:40 and I asked Bhagirathsinh to have lunch today together -  he immediately agreed and we went to one hotel. We enjoyed meal there and discussed about our hobbies and little bit of Junagadh experience. Our number of experiences with Girnar and beggars we discussed and I found that we almost think on same line. Then I visited his classes and saw the set up. By the time Mr. Shailesh Somaiya was already there and we all discussed about format of GPSC and related issues. They discussed their future plan which I found very interesting. Finally at 3:00 hr. Mr. Shailesh asked me to interact current batch who is preparing for Talati examination in near future. I agreed and interacted will almost 12-15 students. I hope my talk was useful to them - at least for their preparation when examination very close - 16th Feb. 2014.
I finished my lecture at 4:30 and went to Mr. Somaiya's office and enjoyed tea. Finally at 5:20 I left Sanand with whole day's memories in mind and a good smile on face.
In nut shell - my first experience with my fast friends - Mr. Bhagirathsinh, Shaileshbhai Somaiya, T.D.O. Sanand was incredibly good.

Me and Bhagirathsinh

Journey-3 - 456 Km in 13 hours- Photo less Journey

Dear Friends,
Yesterday I decided to visit Bhavnagar District. In my 34 years of life I never visited Bhavnagar but my book "Khumari ane Khandani" is now reason for me to visit the places which were not visited earlier. Morning 8 o'clock me, my camera, my books and my Xylo left the home for Bhavnagar. I was planning to stay there at least one night and thinking that I will try to visit maximum no. of villages which are part of my books. I was driving my Xylo and FM were serving good songs (less) and boring advertisement (more) on high way. From Bagodara I took left turn towards Bhavnagar and with that FM range ended so I switched to CD songs.
Just before Bhavnagar I found village board showing - Chogath (5 Km), Umrala (10 Km), Dambhaliya (Km I forgot) Vartej and Chitra are almost part of Bhavnagar now. These villages are actually where one of my story is belonging. Finally I reached Bhavnagar which I had always seen on map only but now I was at the door of city - completely unknown, from where to start and how to reach at my destination. But it is my hobby and  habit to ask and know things so with local people's guidance I reached at my destination. My experience with Bhavnagari people was really very good and sweet. They guide me very nicely. I was happy, excited as well as curious to see maximum of Bhavnagar. I saw beautiful wide road, huge circles, good status and some nice temples on my way within city. I was happy to see the name of circles like - Meghani Circle, Ghogha Circle, Aatabhai Circle, Mokhdaji Circle and all this is part of my book. I finished my work in Bhavnagar and decided to visit Ghogha so I took road to Ghogha. It is 20 Km from Bhavnagar and almost after 10 Km I started enjoying wind coming from ocean - the smell, the touch of coastal area I was feeling on that road. I visited Ghogha and met some people who belong to Mokhadaji Gohil. They saw my book and were very happy because of readership Mokhdaji will increase due my book. I was running of time so did not take any photograph up to this much journey - I was not happy with this but as I avoid driving late evening or night I had to manage no. of place, people and meetings so without taking photos I was just travelling but images of Bhavnagar and near by places are there on my mind. You can surely say "હીરો ઘોઘે જઈ આવ્યો અને ડેલે હાથ દઈ આવ્યો " .
Finally at 4:00 I was again in Bhavnagar and met  members of Meghanibhai - His Son Res. Mr. Mahendra bhai and Mr. Jayant bhai. I also met Mr. Gopal bhai who guided me at initial phase of book. I visited Prasar and Lokmilip trust and shared my views and experience while making this book. They listened me and greeted me well. I was very happy with meetings.
At last 5:30 I started my journey back to Ahmedabad and reached at home at evening 9:00.
My 13 hours journey tiring but what I enjoyed was much more than that tiredness.

Journey-2

Travelling - Journey, I enjoy it every time specially when I drive the car. To me driving is not a job or responsibility but a passion. I love driving on highways for longgggggg..........distances with melody songs as well as one camera. I have developed a habit of taking photographs which my heart clicks first while I am driving and then I stop my car and take a snap in my camera. I interact with people on roadside and take photo of them too. Mostly I have experienced that the smile which these people give is most beautiful on earth at least 1000 times better than the smile which we give against camera in response to "say cheeeeze" - a kind of plastic smile.
Recently I traveled for 4 days between Ahmedabad to Amreli district. It was sincerely a joyful experience to me.
Day-0 - Preparation Day
Day before journey, I was sitting on sofa and my father was sitting on opposite sofa. I was looking at calendar very keenly and scratching my head.
My father asked me, "So what's your plan?".
Me : As in this week 26 January is coming so I am thinking whether I should plan my journey in this week or postpone it to next week? I have to visit some Government offices and if I finish my work by 23rd January then it is worth otherwise things will get delay.
Father : It is upto you.
Me : I will start tomorrow morning and then try to cover Barvala, Amreli and Bhavnagar. If things will change while traveling then I will modify the plan.
Father : OK
Me : Let me pack my luggage.

I took my briefcase, put 2-3 pair of clothes, towel, perfume, hair cream, tooth brush, tongue cleaner. In my official bag I checked that all required documents, photocopies, books, diary, camera, mobile charger, comb, napkin, colorful pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener, visiting card holder, important phone numbers, rechargeable batteries for camera, charger etc. is available. I took some extra book copies also and placed everything in my car.

Day-1

I was about to leave home and my wife Dipti said, you take bottle of water too. I was touched with this - so caring. I took water bottle and at 9:15 me and my father left the home. I was suppose to drop my father at Kalupur railway station as he had plan to visit Surendranagar. I dropped him at Kalupur and moved towards national highway - Ahmedabad to Barvala.
Before leaving Ahmedabad, I confirmed that the person at Barvala is there and he asked me to come without any hesitation.
FM radio channels were serving some songs and too many advertisements - I was changing channels and trying to get some songs. Car was moving with good speed and I was enjoying roadside views. Almost at 12:30 I reached Barvala and met my friend. As it was Monday he was busy but he asked me to join him so we can continue our talk along with his work. It was good experience of Government functionaries. I was just watching his activity, listening people and in between we were discussing our matter. Finally at 3:00 o'clock we went for lunch on high way hotel. We enjoyed Punjabi lunch and came back to office. I took his permission to leave for Amreli and said good bye.
Again car was running towards Amreli and after some time I reached Umrala. This is a village which comes in one of my story titled as "Mokhdoji". I stopped my card and took tea. By 7:30 I reached Amreli.

Day-2

Entire day I spent in meeting different Government officers. It was a great experience. Luck by chance I got a call from Bagsara and got invitation to attend "Gadhy Sabha" organized by Meghani Mitr Vartul. I accepted the invitation as my book - Khumari ane Khandani" is entirely based on Meghani literature.
That's all. Day over.

Day-3

Early morning at 7:45, I started my journey with Ravjibhai Kacha towards Bagsara. We were discussing good experiences and in the mean time we reached at  Bargasra. We were warmly received by Meghani High School - Mr. R.S. Shekhava and Mr. Snehi Parmar. I met number of story teller as well as some famous poet. My book was greatly admired by all people. We enjoyed break fast and hot tea.
N.C.C. cadets were serving us all very sincerely. I interacted with one of the girl cadet - Madhvi. She was very charming and smiling personality. With great courage she was taking care of all the guests. By 10:00 we were invited on stage and I took my seat on second raw being a most junior person among all other dignitaries. Everyone on stage was welcomed with flowers and suddenly they announce that Mr. Mitesh will be honored with shawl due to his work on Meghani literature. I was shocked - surprised and still. Humbly I told them that it is too much. People sitting on stage are much more deserving then me but they insisted to accept their love. I couldn't say no to them. That was an "Eureka Moment" for me. I must thank Meghani for this moment.
Event went well and we enjoyed different stories as well as Gazalz, poems etc.
After that we all enjoyed lunch at Bal Mandir and visited the entire set up. Library, computer laboratory, residential facilities, kitchen, sewing classes etc.

Day-4

Very Important day for me. I left Amreli morning 9:00 and to be frank I was not clear why I am leaving early - it was purely unplanned day. Within one hour I reached Lathi - Kavi Kalapi's city. Morning time, clean city, less traffic - I liked that. I stopped my car and inquired about Kavi Kalapi Smarak. I reached there and started viewing historical photographs, letters, collections of coin etc. in the mean time one cameraman came and started shooting the Smarak. I thught this might be some program preparation so I pulled myself away from camera. On this cameraman told, Hey Mr. we are shooting you only as a visitor of this Smarak. I asked them from where you are coming ? They said we are from ETV. They recorded my 2 minute and 58 seconds bite. I came to know that same will be telecasted on 13th Feb. 2014 at 6:30 on ETV - program is "Flavors of Gujarat". Now I was very happy. I started my journey again towards Ahmedabad. I stopped my car at no. of places and took some photographs as per my liking. Almost at 1:00 o'clock I reached at turning point - near Parvala village. I saw some students were gathered and doing homework in their school ground. I was still with this scene. I drove my car in school compound where I saw one teacher is sitting in sunlight and teaching students.  I went to office and met Mr. Joshi, he welcomed very warmly. I saw my two books - "Khumari ane Khandani" and "Magaj ni Biji Bari". They immediately ordered it, purchased it and paid money. I was shocked with this purchase. I was so touched with their interaction that I requested them to interact with students. They immediately agreed. They told me that this is recess time and I have to wait for 45 minutes. I said fine by the time  I will go and take my lunch somewhere. They told that here in Parvala, you will not get lunch and we are with tiffins so please join us - Wow what a love? They treated me like a chief guest and they were so humble and positive that I could not say no to them. I enjoyed delicious lunch.
Then I interacted with almost 450 students as talked about innovation, creativity, novelty, diary writing, decision making etc. Students responded well and interacted nicely. I left Parvala at 4:15 and reached Ahmedabad at 9:00.

Slogan as Slowgun

I finished my work and was on the way to home today afternoon. While driving my two wheeler I suddenly noticed an auto rickshaw standing on road side and in the mean time I just looked on the message written on its hood. I simply smiled and went but with in half a minute I thought it should be captured in camera so again went to the auto. I parked my Activa near that rickshaw and asked that auto rickshaw driver, " Is this your auto ?" He smiled and nodded his head only said, "Yes". My next question, "Do you know the meaning of what is written on it's hood?" He was happy with this question and said one of my friend residing at Rajkot suggested this slogan but about the meaning of line written on hood he was not that much confident. My third question, "What is your name?" He answered two times, "Ashokbhai Laxmanbhai Bhil". I told him that this photo I will use in my article. Do you have any problem with this? He smiled and said, "Not at all".

Why I wrote this article ? I was (even now) happy with the lighter (and I would say brighter too) side of human being as well as a way to achieve self satisfaction. We all know 3 TIER AC with reference to Indian Railway but here this fellow is providing 3 TIER AC on road. I just advised to Mr. Ashok that you should correct (or rectify) the spelling here. You should write it as "3 TYRE AC". He asked my "WHY?" I explained to him about the difference of meaning between TIER and TYRE.

TOUCHING WOW NOW : Ashokbhai laughed liked anything after my explanation on this matter and he bravely accepted that "Today I understood the actual meaning of this slogan as well as about the mistake of spelling".

Find the photograph of Auto as well as Mr. Ashok in below picture.

Eye & Ear Witness

We heard this phrase lot many times that "Change is only constant in life." Very true. Nothing is static. Everything is constantly moving, changing, running and going. Two things suddenly came in my mind and I got inspiration to write this article. One is News paper and second is Radio. These two products are kind of eyewitness (ear witness too) of 2-3 generation. News paper and radio both are not much old in terms of their invention and age. Both came in existence since 17th to 18th century. Officially News paper may be elder than radio as in initial period notices, king's order, displays, messages were used write down on cloth or different material to communicate.
As time advanced our life style, culture, facilities, transportation, communication etc. also got advancement and became hi-tech. Today if we look back then we feel satisfied that we are in much better condition in terms of life standard. Human leap is huge - from telegraph to satellite phone, bullock cart to supersonic plane, cave to classic bungalow etc. I would say, it is from wandering to wondering change - BUT..........BUT...........BUT we can never imagined our life without news paper and radio.
The taste of fresh news paper in morning and listening songs on radio at late night has always maintained a different and unique position in everyone's life.
I have seen people who waits eagerly for new paper in early morning and the smile on their face when they hold it and open it. I consider it as inaugurating something great called - information box. These people do not like news paper if somebody else has read it first - because it has lost that freshness. Today more than 15 news channels are delivering live news that to 24 X 7 but none of the channel has won the news paper's position - Number one position. I personally prefer to read paper in morning instead of news channel. Let the news be of yesterday but there is something which channel does not contain. I believe news paper maintains the news values whereas channels just keep on bombard the same news again and again which finally lead us to boredom. No doubt that form, format, size and ethics of all news papers have also advanced with time and they do differ in so many aspects but ultimately they all are categorized under one umbrella - Print Media - A paper. The head line, the front page, the editorial page, city news, district news, state news, national news, international news, share market, investment fundas, letter to editors, quotes, advertisement, opinions, articles, sports, police diary and so many other things in just Rs. 3-5 (Approx.). Additionally one supplement almost every day and the taste and subject of this supplement also differs day to day. People wait for some specific day as because on that particular day supplement will of his liking. There are columnist of different subject and each author or writer or columnist has his/her own readership class. Reader's favorite writer, popular writer, famous writer etc. and all these stuff in one news paper. I think "wow effect" comes from this. Channels might be doing number of things behind the screen and before telecasting news but I don't think channel can serve this much variety to us. The basic difference what I feel is news paper has "READER" and channel has "VIEWER".  The habit of reading can not be replaced by your viewing efficiency or listening capacity. Reader prefers reading over viewing and listening.
Second is radio. The journey of radio is also very interesting. In one line it has traveled from K.L. Saigal to Baba Saigal. From power based to wireless radio. From desk size to pocket size. Radio is a wonderful companion of everyone. Radio telecast almost everything touching to our routine life. It is like someone sitting in station is directly linked to everyone's life and airing programs of our choices. Bhajans, news in slow speed, news in different languages, agricultural guidance, debate, talk, play, songs, letters with messages, dedicated songs, advertisement etc. There was a time when television was not much familiar as well as affordable asset to people and cricket was the game interest. People used to sit at one place by holding small radio near to ear and other people used to sit around him. The importance of commentary was due to radio, now a days watching cricket mach is like watching a movie but at that time "isi ke sath char run" and "ye laga sixer" were famous phrases. People used to celebrate such explanation of match situation with noise. Recently Sunil Gavaskar stated that on each ball how can we bring novelty to explain cricket as now entire situation is visible to cricket lover. This was quite possible in radio era. Anyway this was just an example of radio importance but in current time radio has become companion at almost every place. Our car, public transport bus, public places like garden, railway station is having radio and we are getting entertainment every time. This has become possible only because of radio. Like TV, on radio also we have now different option available - different FM frequencies are at our service almost 24 hours. They keep on airing programs of our interests like songs, debates, opinions poles, games, movie review, quiz, informative news etc.
Personally I do not have anything against television but let the design of TV range from "idiot box" to "smart flat frame with internet" it will not affect the position of paper and radio in our life.

Gujarati is also one of main subject - not an optional

In routine we generally do not pay attention to the language we speak - specially true for mother tongue. On one side we always get hammered by statement like "Gujarati is dying" but that is a HARDCORE LIE. No language dies just because some people say it loudly.

Language lives till our generation maintains Gujaratism. The matter of worry is that what kind of standard we are maintaining for this "ism".

All parents always wish that their child should study in "English" medium and I have seen during parents meeting they ask, " how is my child in Science, Maths and English ? Nobody ask, how is my child in Gujarati or Hindi? Why?

I have even observed that so called educationalist used to say, Gujarati can be taught by any teacher like Social study teacher can teach Gujarati. I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THIS PRACTICE. Do you believe this?

Let us make it clear to all educationalist that "Capability of reading Gujarati do not make anyone eligible to teach Gujarati". Gujarati can be taught only by a person who knows history of language, having grammar clarity and beauty as well as appropriate usage of language. Why the hell University is giving degree like B.A. and M.A. with Literature. These Gujarati post graduates must be knowing much more about language then other subject's post graduates. Isn't it?

Our language expertise -  like selection and use of correct words develops our expression efficiency.

One question to all friends - If somebody misspell our name in English we ask them to correct but same thing we do not follow for Gujarati. Why ?

Why મિતેષ and મીતેશ is acceptable to us? I must say second "Mitesh" is wrong please correct it.

ILL, KILL AND SKILL - Difference of one alphabet can change the meaning entirely. In a same way one thought - a sparkling thought can change anyone's entire life.

Air Assisted Politics - AAP (Another definition)

Disclaimer : Below article is neither to support nor to oppose any political parties. It is entirely my opinion about the event.

Dear Common Men,

Political air current were shuffling between Congress and BJP but AAP chief blown air current from his mouth to change the established current of Congress as well as BJP.

I was surprise to see when AAP chief demonstrated water meter (conspiracy) to crowd. I think none of the meter to measure anything is 100% accurate due to no. of reason like instrument error, accuracy standard, precision percentage and standard error etc. and all these factors finally leads to approximately 2-3 % variation in final measurement. It is even easy to understand that the meter which is primarily manufactured to measure flowing object like water or gas is mainly working on principle of pressure created due to such objects as well as continuity of flow. If you blow air in meter from one end and it passes through the mechanism, definitely some movement will occur and reading will change - this is why it is made and I would say that meter is really sensitive instead of defective (conspiracy).
So I personally conclude it as AAM ADMI WAS MADE FOOL by AAP chief publicly.

Names for Kites from Around the World

Kite Geography - HAPPY UTTARAYAN!

In each country or culture where kites have been used, the people there developed special names for them. These names reflected the ideas that people had about their kites, they way they looked, or the reasons they flew them.
In English, the word "kite" is also the name of a graceful bird. The Kite Society of great Britain has adopted a "kite" bird that resides in the London Zoo.
In Japan, kites are flown with long bridle lines and tails. it is not surprising that the Japanese word "tako" also means octopus.
In France, kites are made with many spars and sticks. The word "cerf volant" is also the name used for antlers on their deer.
In Mexico, the word for kite is "papalote". That's also the Mexican word for butterfly.
In the South African language of Afrikaner, kites care called "vlieers".This is very similar to the Dutch word " vlieger". But remember that the first European settlers in South Africa were from Holland.
In Germany, the first windsocks were in the shape on animals and often had small fires lit inside the head to frighten enemies. Kites - which grew from windsocks - are now called "drachen" which means dragon.
Here are some common names for kites from around the world. Maybe you can discover the meaning or the ideas behind some more of these words that people have used to describe our flying machines.
  • Afrikaans (South Africa) - Vlieers
  • Belgian - Plakwaaier
  • Chinese - Fung jung
  • Dutch - Vlieger
  • English - Kite
  • Estonian - Lohe
  • Finnish - Leija
  • French - Cerf volant
  • German - Drachen
  • India - Patang
  • Indonesia - Layang-layang
  • Italian - Aquilone
  • Japanese - Tako
  • Korean - Youn
  • Mexican - Papalote
  • Norwegian & Danish - Drage
  • Portuguese - Pipas
  • Philippines - Saranggola
  • Russian - Letuchij zmeij

TOP TOPIC - TOPI

As 2014 election is coming closer - Indian Politics is now becoming more and more colorful - Rangbirangi.

People will have to again study ABC in 2014. Surely this ABC will be more tougher than the academic ABC because in this case ABC stands as follows.

A is not for Apple but Aam Admi Party
B is not for Ball but BJP
C is not for Cat but Congress

(Un)fortunately Gandhi topi is now getting good market as well as branding due to these political parties. Let the purpose be different than original Gandhi topi but it is getting name and fame due all ABC parties.

A is asking people to wear topi with message - "Mai aam admi hu"

B is asking people to wear topi with message - "Ek Bharat, shresth Bharat"
(I could not find image with "Ek Bharat, Shersth Bharat" slogan - Apologize for that)

C is asking people to wear topi with message - "............................." only Congress can read message.

BJP tried to get rid of one Topi and it became national topic for discussion. Why Narendra Modi denied to Topi ?

Then Anna Topi came with Lokpal bill but against shrewd politics it did not held well and blown away.

It's like in India TOP TOPIC IS TOPI only. I think it is true since we got independence. Initially Congress used to put TOPI on common man then BJP came and blow that TOPI for sometime and now again AAP came and put their TOPI on common man but bottom line message is that "Common Man" has to live with XYZ kind of TOPI.

So life of common man in India starts with ABC and ends with XYZ.

My Book Launch

Dear Friends,
I am very happy to share with you about my book which is based on our great national poet Shri Zaverchand Meghani's famous creation named "Saurashtra ni Rasdhar". My book is compilation of 5 characters which I selected based on their brave dedication for others or fight for rights. I carefully extracted story out of entire creation of Meghani's chapter and translated it in dialogue format. The entire story runs with beautiful pictures / illustrations which are full of colors. Images are so real that reader can imagine the incidence happened in past. Each character becomes live and like reader is watching actual incidence happening in front of him.
This work was very well covered by news papers. Herewith I am attaching some of the articles of the same.
