Journey - 6 - Modasar Village

Journey - 6 - Modasar Village
Date : 12/02/2014
Place: Modasar Village (Near Sanand)

Dear Friends,

I am sorry for late updation of my last journey. As usual it was amazing because I always visit some less known but historically or mythologically rich place. This time also my journey partner was Bhagirathsinh from Sanand. When I called him up in morning, he was not in mood to plan a journey but when I expressed my intense interest in utilizing day he agreed and we started our journey from Sanand. Actual planning was to go to Dholka but as soon as we left Sanand he told me that there is one village on same route which has some historical value. I got interested and decided to spare some time in that village - Modasar.
I came to know that here Atri Rushi had stayed for some time and because of that name of Mahadev mandir is Atreshwar Mahadev. You can see the entrance of the temple below.
Atreshvwar Mahadeve Temple Entrance

We also saw one closed tunnel near temple which is believed to be leading to Junagadh. To be frank I did not came to know why to Junagadh only but I just respected villagers religious feeling there.
What I feel the amazing place was "Banganga Lake"just next to temple. You can see no. of photographs of the same. The story behind this lake is that Atri Rushi was thirsty and needed water to drink and at the same time Pandav's were passing through this place. By arrow and bow Arjun brought holy river Ganga's water here and shape of lake became like Bow. I feel sorry that my camera do not have Panaroma view feature so could not covered the entire shape of lake but personally I enjoyed the view at place. It is like Bow.
Local people are mining it for their commercial purpose but they take care about the shape of lake also. You can see some of the photos of Lake here.

Journey - 5 - Viramgam - May Government help God - Amen

Date : 06/02/2014
Place: Viramgam
Attended person : Prof. Ashwin Aandani, Vipulbhai, Bhagirathsinh Chavda, Jagdishbhai Patel

Very Good Evening Friends,

Today's journey was joyful as well as painful. I visited Viramgam and Sanand with my friend Bhagirathsinh.
Morning at 8:40 I started my journey with my weapons - Camera and Car towards Sanand and called up Bhagirathsinh that I am coming in 20 minutes you be ready. He replied, "Done Miteshbhai, I will be waiting on Sanand road, just pick me up". We planned to visit Viramgam first and then Dholka and Bavla so I was driving little bit fast and playing old melody songs. We were discussing "Minority policy for Jain" and some other stuff. During this journey I came to know that on highway if Toll booth is there and you are from nearest village or town or city (exact range of kilometers is to be find out) than by showing your driving license you can avoid Toll Tax. Near about 9:45 we reached at Viramgam crossing. Bhagirathsinh told me that almost after 8 years he is visiting this city, I said for me it's first time. Finally I saw a huge water logged area (like a lake but it was not a lake) in beginning of Viramgam. Through one narrow way we reached to one gate of city and inquired about DCM college. That elder fellow guided us well by saying that you are on wrong way right now, so go back and take route parallel to this water reservoir and you will reach to DCM college. With local people's guidance we reached at DCM college. The ground was huge (massively) and there was one old school also in the same campus. To be frank, school building was more attractive than college due to it's old architectural construction. Finally we were in DCM college's office and met Prof. Ashwin Aandani - my friend.
Prof. Ashwin Aandani welcomed us warmly and I introduced Mr. Bhagirathsinh to him. They were in touch long back but now first time they met each other face to face. Prof. Ashwin took us to college premises and explained us different activities and achievements of college. Classes were old so size of class were quite big and old but nicely maintained benches were there. They have recently started a class for competitive studies and luckily one batch was studying so we interacted with them. I saw them my article in Latest Facts in General Studies also.

Mr. Bhagirathsinh, Prof. Ashwin  and myself at DCM college - Viramgam

M.J. High School  built in 1917 - Viramgam

We finished our work in Government office with help of some local contacts and planned to visit Moonsar Lake. This part of visit was really painful.
Historically Moonsar Lake was built by Minal Devi and there were 108 "Shivalay" on bank of Lake organized in circular fashion. Each Shivalay was having one "Bell made of Gold" and each of this bell was connected with common string so if you pull string from first Shivalay then all 108 bells were ringing. Yesterday I came to know about this information from one of my friend Mr. Narendar Rathod (his native place is Viramgam) so I was very much interested to visit this place. We went there and at first look we found that neither local people, local authorities, state authorities or Archaeological Survey of India is interested to take care of this beautiful piece of  History-Shameful very shameful and very much painful. We visited almost 70 Shivalay with hope that at least one "Shivaling" we get there but what we found was .....

Broken Shivalay
No Shivling
People's place for nature's call
Liquor bottle
Pack of cards hidden in Gaumukh of Shivalay
Pepsi bottle
Deshi Liquor packs
Buffalo's dung
People's dung
and what not.
No Shivling in side Shivalay

Burnt material inside the Shivling

Traces of Shivling's existence

Comparatively clean place - Lucky one

Party in present of God

Close up

Lucky Liquor - Near to God's residence

Same photo - Front View

Still the other part of visit was amazing as I focused on beauty of these Shivalay. We took number of photographs from different angle and I was thinking how much hard work these might have done to prepare this beautiful place ? What a creation ? All unique and each different.

One of the main Shivalay between 108 Small Shivalay-  No Shivling inside

Beautiful design in roof of Shivalay on stone

Series of small Shivalay arrange in circular fashion - All damaged

You can see damage on top of Shivalay - Broken roof

Pack of cards hidden under God himself - Lake with Pack

Again beautiful - God's idol

See the beautiful sculpture

Idol in nice frame

Broken idol -  Leg is replaced with G-8

You can see Gaumookh

Long shot of one of main Shivalay

Close up of Shivalay

On main frame see the beautiful sculpture

Lake with dirty

Hole - connecting each bell with each other

See hole to pass the string for bell

Broken history on ground

Fantastic work - Top of Temple

Incredibly good design of temple
Series of Small Shivalay

Ganesh Idol - Small but sensational

Hole to pass the string to connect the Golden bell of each Shivalay

Finally I reached Ahmedabad with lots of pain about this visit.
May Government help God - Amen

Journey - 4 - Sanand Visit - Enjoyed with new friend

Dear Friends,
From today I have decided to arrange and organize my all journey description in little different format because after some years when I will be requiring this information It will be available in proper format. This may eventually get modified for betterment and I do invite suggestions from all friends. So here is the beginning.

Date : 04/02/2014
Place: Sanand
Attended persons: Mr. Bhagirathsinh, Shaileshbhai Somaiya, T.D.O. Sanand.

Today my day was not planned.  I thought let me take rest today due to my yesterday's Bhavnagar journey and thinking to write down some new articles. Suddenly I recalled that I had planned to meet Bhagirathsinh on Monday but due to some other urgency I went to Bhavnagar so I called up him and apologize for Monday cancellation. But on phone we also planned to meet today itself and I again started my journey - as usual - me, my camera and Xylo. I reached Sanand at 11:30 and met Bhagirathsinh. We sat for almost half an hour at his friend's Ayurvedic clinic and discussed about GPSC and UPSC awareness in villages, specially in Sanand. During discussion I found him very enthusiastic about his future plan (like me) so our wave length got matched immediately. Then we went to Taluka Panchayat office of Sanand and met T.D.O. That experience was amazing. Till day I have met number of Government officers and almost all of them have responded very positively but today T.D.O. of Sanand broke all this records -  He listened me very attentively and praised my efforts of books. He liked my book so that he agreed to help me in all best possible ways so called up number of his friends and informed them about my book. Simultaneously he gave me name and contact details of all the relevant people and asked me to meet these people personally. I found him very positive and active Government officer. Personally I wish him a bright future in  his career. Finally it was 13:40 and I asked Bhagirathsinh to have lunch today together -  he immediately agreed and we went to one hotel. We enjoyed meal there and discussed about our hobbies and little bit of Junagadh experience. Our number of experiences with Girnar and beggars we discussed and I found that we almost think on same line. Then I visited his classes and saw the set up. By the time Mr. Shailesh Somaiya was already there and we all discussed about format of GPSC and related issues. They discussed their future plan which I found very interesting. Finally at 3:00 hr. Mr. Shailesh asked me to interact current batch who is preparing for Talati examination in near future. I agreed and interacted will almost 12-15 students. I hope my talk was useful to them - at least for their preparation when examination very close - 16th Feb. 2014.
I finished my lecture at 4:30 and went to Mr. Somaiya's office and enjoyed tea. Finally at 5:20 I left Sanand with whole day's memories in mind and a good smile on face.
In nut shell - my first experience with my fast friends - Mr. Bhagirathsinh, Shaileshbhai Somaiya, T.D.O. Sanand was incredibly good.

Me and Bhagirathsinh

Journey-3 - 456 Km in 13 hours- Photo less Journey

Dear Friends,
Yesterday I decided to visit Bhavnagar District. In my 34 years of life I never visited Bhavnagar but my book "Khumari ane Khandani" is now reason for me to visit the places which were not visited earlier. Morning 8 o'clock me, my camera, my books and my Xylo left the home for Bhavnagar. I was planning to stay there at least one night and thinking that I will try to visit maximum no. of villages which are part of my books. I was driving my Xylo and FM were serving good songs (less) and boring advertisement (more) on high way. From Bagodara I took left turn towards Bhavnagar and with that FM range ended so I switched to CD songs.
Just before Bhavnagar I found village board showing - Chogath (5 Km), Umrala (10 Km), Dambhaliya (Km I forgot) Vartej and Chitra are almost part of Bhavnagar now. These villages are actually where one of my story is belonging. Finally I reached Bhavnagar which I had always seen on map only but now I was at the door of city - completely unknown, from where to start and how to reach at my destination. But it is my hobby and  habit to ask and know things so with local people's guidance I reached at my destination. My experience with Bhavnagari people was really very good and sweet. They guide me very nicely. I was happy, excited as well as curious to see maximum of Bhavnagar. I saw beautiful wide road, huge circles, good status and some nice temples on my way within city. I was happy to see the name of circles like - Meghani Circle, Ghogha Circle, Aatabhai Circle, Mokhdaji Circle and all this is part of my book. I finished my work in Bhavnagar and decided to visit Ghogha so I took road to Ghogha. It is 20 Km from Bhavnagar and almost after 10 Km I started enjoying wind coming from ocean - the smell, the touch of coastal area I was feeling on that road. I visited Ghogha and met some people who belong to Mokhadaji Gohil. They saw my book and were very happy because of readership Mokhdaji will increase due my book. I was running of time so did not take any photograph up to this much journey - I was not happy with this but as I avoid driving late evening or night I had to manage no. of place, people and meetings so without taking photos I was just travelling but images of Bhavnagar and near by places are there on my mind. You can surely say "હીરો ઘોઘે જઈ આવ્યો અને ડેલે હાથ દઈ આવ્યો " .
Finally at 4:00 I was again in Bhavnagar and met  members of Meghanibhai - His Son Res. Mr. Mahendra bhai and Mr. Jayant bhai. I also met Mr. Gopal bhai who guided me at initial phase of book. I visited Prasar and Lokmilip trust and shared my views and experience while making this book. They listened me and greeted me well. I was very happy with meetings.
At last 5:30 I started my journey back to Ahmedabad and reached at home at evening 9:00.
My 13 hours journey tiring but what I enjoyed was much more than that tiredness.

Journey-2

Travelling - Journey, I enjoy it every time specially when I drive the car. To me driving is not a job or responsibility but a passion. I love driving on highways for longgggggg..........distances with melody songs as well as one camera. I have developed a habit of taking photographs which my heart clicks first while I am driving and then I stop my car and take a snap in my camera. I interact with people on roadside and take photo of them too. Mostly I have experienced that the smile which these people give is most beautiful on earth at least 1000 times better than the smile which we give against camera in response to "say cheeeeze" - a kind of plastic smile.
Recently I traveled for 4 days between Ahmedabad to Amreli district. It was sincerely a joyful experience to me.
Day-0 - Preparation Day
Day before journey, I was sitting on sofa and my father was sitting on opposite sofa. I was looking at calendar very keenly and scratching my head.
My father asked me, "So what's your plan?".
Me : As in this week 26 January is coming so I am thinking whether I should plan my journey in this week or postpone it to next week? I have to visit some Government offices and if I finish my work by 23rd January then it is worth otherwise things will get delay.
Father : It is upto you.
Me : I will start tomorrow morning and then try to cover Barvala, Amreli and Bhavnagar. If things will change while traveling then I will modify the plan.
Father : OK
Me : Let me pack my luggage.

I took my briefcase, put 2-3 pair of clothes, towel, perfume, hair cream, tooth brush, tongue cleaner. In my official bag I checked that all required documents, photocopies, books, diary, camera, mobile charger, comb, napkin, colorful pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener, visiting card holder, important phone numbers, rechargeable batteries for camera, charger etc. is available. I took some extra book copies also and placed everything in my car.

Day-1

I was about to leave home and my wife Dipti said, you take bottle of water too. I was touched with this - so caring. I took water bottle and at 9:15 me and my father left the home. I was suppose to drop my father at Kalupur railway station as he had plan to visit Surendranagar. I dropped him at Kalupur and moved towards national highway - Ahmedabad to Barvala.
Before leaving Ahmedabad, I confirmed that the person at Barvala is there and he asked me to come without any hesitation.
FM radio channels were serving some songs and too many advertisements - I was changing channels and trying to get some songs. Car was moving with good speed and I was enjoying roadside views. Almost at 12:30 I reached Barvala and met my friend. As it was Monday he was busy but he asked me to join him so we can continue our talk along with his work. It was good experience of Government functionaries. I was just watching his activity, listening people and in between we were discussing our matter. Finally at 3:00 o'clock we went for lunch on high way hotel. We enjoyed Punjabi lunch and came back to office. I took his permission to leave for Amreli and said good bye.
Again car was running towards Amreli and after some time I reached Umrala. This is a village which comes in one of my story titled as "Mokhdoji". I stopped my card and took tea. By 7:30 I reached Amreli.

Day-2

Entire day I spent in meeting different Government officers. It was a great experience. Luck by chance I got a call from Bagsara and got invitation to attend "Gadhy Sabha" organized by Meghani Mitr Vartul. I accepted the invitation as my book - Khumari ane Khandani" is entirely based on Meghani literature.
That's all. Day over.

Day-3

Early morning at 7:45, I started my journey with Ravjibhai Kacha towards Bagsara. We were discussing good experiences and in the mean time we reached at  Bargasra. We were warmly received by Meghani High School - Mr. R.S. Shekhava and Mr. Snehi Parmar. I met number of story teller as well as some famous poet. My book was greatly admired by all people. We enjoyed break fast and hot tea.
N.C.C. cadets were serving us all very sincerely. I interacted with one of the girl cadet - Madhvi. She was very charming and smiling personality. With great courage she was taking care of all the guests. By 10:00 we were invited on stage and I took my seat on second raw being a most junior person among all other dignitaries. Everyone on stage was welcomed with flowers and suddenly they announce that Mr. Mitesh will be honored with shawl due to his work on Meghani literature. I was shocked - surprised and still. Humbly I told them that it is too much. People sitting on stage are much more deserving then me but they insisted to accept their love. I couldn't say no to them. That was an "Eureka Moment" for me. I must thank Meghani for this moment.
Event went well and we enjoyed different stories as well as Gazalz, poems etc.
After that we all enjoyed lunch at Bal Mandir and visited the entire set up. Library, computer laboratory, residential facilities, kitchen, sewing classes etc.

Day-4

Very Important day for me. I left Amreli morning 9:00 and to be frank I was not clear why I am leaving early - it was purely unplanned day. Within one hour I reached Lathi - Kavi Kalapi's city. Morning time, clean city, less traffic - I liked that. I stopped my car and inquired about Kavi Kalapi Smarak. I reached there and started viewing historical photographs, letters, collections of coin etc. in the mean time one cameraman came and started shooting the Smarak. I thught this might be some program preparation so I pulled myself away from camera. On this cameraman told, Hey Mr. we are shooting you only as a visitor of this Smarak. I asked them from where you are coming ? They said we are from ETV. They recorded my 2 minute and 58 seconds bite. I came to know that same will be telecasted on 13th Feb. 2014 at 6:30 on ETV - program is "Flavors of Gujarat". Now I was very happy. I started my journey again towards Ahmedabad. I stopped my car at no. of places and took some photographs as per my liking. Almost at 1:00 o'clock I reached at turning point - near Parvala village. I saw some students were gathered and doing homework in their school ground. I was still with this scene. I drove my car in school compound where I saw one teacher is sitting in sunlight and teaching students.  I went to office and met Mr. Joshi, he welcomed very warmly. I saw my two books - "Khumari ane Khandani" and "Magaj ni Biji Bari". They immediately ordered it, purchased it and paid money. I was shocked with this purchase. I was so touched with their interaction that I requested them to interact with students. They immediately agreed. They told me that this is recess time and I have to wait for 45 minutes. I said fine by the time  I will go and take my lunch somewhere. They told that here in Parvala, you will not get lunch and we are with tiffins so please join us - Wow what a love? They treated me like a chief guest and they were so humble and positive that I could not say no to them. I enjoyed delicious lunch.
Then I interacted with almost 450 students as talked about innovation, creativity, novelty, diary writing, decision making etc. Students responded well and interacted nicely. I left Parvala at 4:15 and reached Ahmedabad at 9:00.
